Putnam County Historical Society Collection
The Putnam County Public Library's Local History and Genealogy Department is currently the home of the records of the Putnam County Historical Society. This collection is divided into three parts: boxes, genealogy folders and subject folders.
You can use the links below to view the boxes and folders available or you can use the search button to view the family names we have available in these collections.
The boxed and Bound Collection contains information for a number of clubs and organizations that have existed in the county over time. For example, the boxes contain records from the Heritage Preservation Society and the Over The Teacups Club. As the name suggests, the genealogy folders contain family genealogies and are organized by family name. The subject files are folders containing information on a wide range of subjects related to the county such as the Pearl Bryan murder, the buzz bomb memorial and the county fair.
